How to Get to Czernica (Near Rybnik) – Travel Guide

 

When traveling to Czernica, we can choose one of several airports located in relatively close proximity to this village. It is worth noting at this point that there are several towns in Poland named Czernica. We are interested in the one located near the city of Rybnik in the Silesian province.

The airports in Poland closest to your destination are:

        • Katowice-Pyrzowice (95km)
        • Krakow-Balice (135km)
        • Wroclaw (200km)

It’s also not a bad idea to use airports located in the Czech Republic:

        • Ostrava airport (60km)
        • Brno airport (200km)

At each of the airports, there are car rental agencies where you can rent a vehicle and travel freely within the Republic.

However, if you choose to travel by public transportation, here is a little instruction on how best to get around Poland.

Very helpful, and actually such a “must have” in planning your trip will be the installation of a Polish application called “Jakdojade”. In the settings, we can change the language to English, and with the help of this application, by entering the starting point of the trip (e.g. Pyrzowice airport) and the destination (Rybnik), the application finds us all available connections, shows platforms and tracks, connection times, and you can also buy a ticket for most trips through the application!

NOTE: The destination station must always be the city of RYBNIK. Entering Czernica as a destination point will direct us to Czernica located in another part of Poland. We do not recommend.

1. Katowice-Pyrzowice

 

From the port of Katowice, we buy a ticket to Rybnik. Usually, the route involves several transfers. All the tracks and platforms, as well as the departure times and transfer towns to look at, will be in the already mentioned Jakdojade app. After arriving at the Rybnik train station, to get to the minigolf course, we head to the public transport stop. It is less than a 5-minute walk, right next to the Shell gas station. The transportation stop has the name “Rybnik Meksyk Kamyczek” (Google Maps: 50°05’14.3″N 18°32’45.8″E). The bus line which will take you to the field is marked with the number 29. The courses run approximately every hour. 2. Krakow-Balice

 

Here it’s a very similar story to the Katowice airport. From the port of Krakow we buy a ticket to Rybnik. Usually the route involves several transfers. From Wroclaw airport, we buy a public transport ticket and get to Wroclaw Glowny railroad station. From Wrocław Główny station we buy a ticket to Rybnik. Usually the route involves several transfers. All the tracks and platforms from Wroclaw Glowny railroad station, as well as departure times and transfer destinations to be viewed on a regular basis will be in the already mentioned Jakdojade app. After arriving at the Rybnik train station to get to the mini golf course, we head to the public transport stop.
